Not a different kind of hypnosis — a specific, structured way of delivering it. Built over more than a decade, shaped by 3,790+ client results, and designed so you know exactly what you're getting from session one.
Start with a conversationMost hypnotherapy websites describe "hypnosis" in general terms — relaxation, subconscious suggestion, breaking patterns. All broadly true, and all identical from one practitioner's site to the next.
What they don't tell you is how that practitioner actually runs a session, structures a programme, or measures whether it's working. That's what The Darren Carter Method actually is: not a different kind of hypnosis, but a specific, structured way of delivering it that I built over more than a decade of full-time clinical practice.
Here's what's actually in it.
Each one is a deliberate structural choice — not a marketing claim, and not something you'll find automatically at every practice.
Most hypnotherapy sessions run 35–50 minutes. Mine run 90 — every session, not just the first. That's 60 minutes of hypnosis plus 30 minutes for proper catch-up and reflection. The 30 minutes matters as much as the 60: it's where we review what's shifted, work through anything that's come up, and make sure the next 60 minutes is built from where you actually are that week — not a generic continuation.
I don't do ongoing weekly therapy with no end point. Every client starts with a plan built around a realistic number of sessions — typically three to four — with a defined goal. You know what you're working toward and roughly how long it will take, from session one. That clarity changes how you approach the work.
Change doesn't only happen in the room. Between sessions, clients receive Client Support Guides — practical, specific tools tied to what we're actually working on together, not a generic relaxation pack. This is how progress continues in the days between appointments rather than resetting each time you walk back in.
Many packages include a recording of your actual session — not a generic pre-recorded track. You can revisit the exact language and suggestions used with you specifically, whenever you need reinforcement. A tool most hypnotherapists don't offer, and one that clients find genuinely useful between appointments.
I spent over 25 years in the corporate world before training as a hypnotherapist — much of it in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. That background is why high-functioning clients — professionals managing addiction, burnout, or anxiety while still performing — often say I understand their situation faster than practitioners without that context. They don't have to explain the pressure. I already get it.
The Method isn't one generic approach stretched across every issue. For addiction, I hold a certified Cocaine Addiction Therapy Practitioner qualification and a Smoking and Vaping Cessation Specialist certification. For phobias, IBS and anxiety, insomnia — each backed by targeted clinical training, not one certificate applied to everything.
The Darren Carter Method is the structural backbone whether you're working with me on anxiety, addiction, a smoking habit, or a wellbeing issue like burnout or self-esteem: the 90-minute session format, the defined programme length, the Client Support Guides, the tailored — never scripted — approach.
What changes is the specific clinical content of each session. What stays constant is the method itself — and the fact that everything is built around you specifically, not a generic protocol that happens to have your name on it.
That applies equally to alcohol, gambling, cannabis, and the full range of conditions listed on the main site.
More than 3,790 clients have now been through this method — across anxiety, addiction, phobias, sleep, IBS, and other conditions. The 134 five-star Google reviews reflect what happens when a structured, personalised approach is applied consistently over a decade of full-time practice.
I'm registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and the National Hypnotherapy Society — a UK Accredited Register recognised by the Professional Standards Authority, the same framework as other regulated health professions.
A free phone consultation is the usual first step — no obligation, no pressure, just a conversation about where you are and whether this is the right fit for you.
